Position Overview

We seek a committed casual roving relief chef to support Summerset's Hawke's Bay kitchens. This role extends beyond preparing food, offering the chance to enhance residents' well-being by creating nourishing, enjoyable meals. You will prepare resident production meals, serve a lively café menu, and offer diverse cabinet selections, accommodating various dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook set meals for residents unable to visit the café
• Handle short orders for café patrons
• Assist in designing engaging café specials menus
• Adhere strictly to the approved Food Control Plan
• Provide culinary guidance and support to kitchen colleagues
• Showcase culinary creativity for fine dining and themed village events

Additional Role Details

This casual role involves working hours as needed, covering multiple Summerset village kitchens across Hawke's Bay, including Napier, Te Awa, Havelock North, and Hastings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Professional cookery qualification
• Proven experience as a Cook or Chef in fast-paced kitchens
• Thorough knowledge of Food Safety Plans
• Team-oriented mindset with eagerness to share culinary expertise
