Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse based in our Whangarei village, you will be integral to a team delivering superior aged care. This role focuses on providing a resident-centered care approach and ensuring the ongoing wellbeing and comfort of residents, many of whom may stay with us long term.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage residents’ daily needs, covering clinical care through to end-of-life support.
• Develop, implement, and review long-term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Lead clinical decisions during specific shifts while overseeing the care center operations.
• Implement nursing care plans and evaluate resident progress collaboratively with residents and their families.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to caregivers on duty.
• Create and foster trusted relationships with residents and their families.

Employment Details

This is a permanent position with a rotating roster of four days on followed by two days off, covering AM, PM, and night shifts. The role requires between 60 to 80 hours per fortnight. Additional weekend penalty rates apply.

Qualifications and Attributes Required

• Current New Zealand Nursing Registration with an active Practicing Certificate.
• Strong commitment and interest in aged care and familiarity with clinical services in retirement villages.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to stay composed under pressure and maintain emotional resilience.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with residents, their families, and team members.
