Overview
This role involves delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests within the assigned location, ensuring a courteous, professional, and efficient approach that aligns with Kempinski Hotels' renowned standards. The objective is to boost sales and enhance guest satisfaction through attentive service.
Key Duties
- Collaborate closely with waitstaff and minibar attendants to ensure smooth operations.
- Engage guests with excellent communication and persuasive selling strategies consistently.
- Receive order requests via telephone and accurately enter them into the POS system for timely communication with service and kitchen teams.
- Maintain punctuality and adhere strictly to the hotel's dress and grooming standards, including wearing clean, pressed uniforms, polished shoes, and identification badges.
- Deliver courteous, professional, and efficient service at all times.
- Perform all outlet-specific tasks diligently as required.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of all hotel services and products.
- Understand thoroughly the food and beverage offerings, enabling accurate explanations and effective upselling, including suggesting alternatives.
- Manage inventory supplies and equipment responsibly to minimize spoilage and wastage.
- Keep the work area and surroundings clean, tidy, and well-organized consistently.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures for the assigned outlet as established.
- Handle guest inquiries courteously and efficiently; promptly report complaints and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Operate the POS system competently at the assigned responsibility level.
- Comply rigorously with hotel policies regarding fire safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
- Foster good working relationships within the department and across the hotel.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and training sessions organized by the department and hotel.
- Carry out reasonable additional duties as assigned by management.
- Adapt flexibly to departmental changes as directed by hotel leadership.
- Assist with scheduled inventories of products and equipment.
- Maintain a positive, motivated attitude with self-control.
- Understand the department's monthly profit and loss statements.
- Exemplify leadership by guiding the team and ensuring flawless service standards.
- Act as a steward of the outlet’s concept, overseeing the quality of service, food, beverages, and team support.
Qualifications and Skills
- Background in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in food and beverage service roles is essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively within a multinational workforce.
- Strong written and verbal English skills.
- Capability to work well under pressure, in teams, and deliver proactive solutions.
- Excellent telephone communication skills, able to represent Kempinski professionally.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct at all times.
