Role Overview
We are seeking a capable and driven Robotics Operator to spearhead safe, efficient delivery of innovative inspection, survey, and monitoring initiatives across both industrial and environmental sectors. This role suits a technically adept robotics expert who thrives in fieldwork, client interaction, and utilizing advanced technology platforms. Key duties include piloting UAVs, ROVs, and UGVs, aiding project planning, mentoring colleagues, and advancing operational excellence in robotics.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and lead deployment of sophisticated UAV, ROV, and UGV technologies.
- Deliver inspection, survey, and monitoring tasks with safety, efficiency, and precision.
- Guide and mentor team members fostering operational excellence in robotics services.
- Process spatial data to create GIS, mapping, and 3D modelling outputs.
- Engage proactively with clients to offer innovative technology-enabled solutions.
- Continually improve robotics operations, data handling workflows, and project execution.
- Maintain adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards in all activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Current CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL).
- Proven hands-on experience operating UAVs, ROVs, and/or UGVs within industrial, infrastructure, environmental, or natural resources sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in field operations or project delivery settings.
- Comprehensive understanding of robotics platforms, sensors, and inspection technologies.
- Familiarity with CASA regulations, workplace health and safety (WHS) mandates, and risk management procedures.
- Proficiency with GIS and spatial data software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Pix4D, or Agisoft Metashape.
- Possession of a current Australian Driver's Licence.
Preferred Skills
- Background in asset inspection, environmental monitoring, surveying, or related industrial services.
- Strong client communication and report writing skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and leading field teams.
