Overview
This 12-month full-time contractor role, reporting to the Offshore Asset Manager, is based in Dublin with a hybrid work setup requiring two days onsite and three days remote per week. The role supports Ireland's national objective to become carbon neutral by 2050 by overseeing risk management of the offshore transmission assets that will integrate approximately 5GW of offshore wind power into the electricity grid.
Role Purpose
The role supports the Transmission System Operator and Transmission Asset Owner functions as they establish processes, systems, and teams to manage offshore electricity transmission assets, delivering safe and reliable integration of offshore wind energy. As leader of the Offshore Asset Management Risk Management (OAMRM) program, the specialist will develop and implement policies, processes, and governance frameworks covering the asset management risk lifecycle in line with national and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy the OAMRM strategy and framework covering risk identification, categorization, analysis, and control.
- Design and deliver end-to-end asset risk management solutions including strategy and process improvements.
- Create comprehensive OAMRM policies grounded on existing TSO asset risk management approaches.
- Assist in defining offshore-specific risk consequences integrating operational and financial impacts.
- Ensure alignment of OAMRM with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and ISO 31000 and ISO 55001 standards.
- Establish robust risk reporting, governance, escalation procedures, KPIs, and leading indicators in collaboration with enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) teams.
- Develop consolidated offshore asset risk registers incorporating quantitative risk assessments and ensure smooth handover processes between project phases.
- Advise on technology requirements and facilitate integration of risk management tools and information systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Offshore Renewables, Asset Management, Project Management, or related fields (NFQ level 8 or higher).
- Chartered status or professional body membership with substantial relevant expertise.
- Between 5 and 10 years' experience in offshore asset management focusing on risk management.
- Proven experience establishing asset risk management systems following ISO 31000 and ISO 55001 standards.
- Skilled in managing asset risk registers and understanding the connections between offshore project delivery and asset management in sectors like offshore wind, marine construction, or oil and gas.
- Proficient with risk management software such as Oracle Primavera Cloud, ARM, Safran, and Primavera Risk.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience coordinating across multiple internal and external teams.
- Proactive and delivery-oriented approach apt for building new capabilities in complex offshore environments.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Excel, Teams, and Power BI.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
