Job description

About the Role

We seek a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major renewable energy initiatives including Wind, Solar, Battery Storage, and Grid Infrastructure projects. Based in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland, this permanent position operates under a hybrid working model with a blend of on-site and remote work. Reporting to the PMO Program Manager, you will oversee all phases of project development from inception through to operation, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic priorities and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct large-scale renewable infrastructure projects through stages including Planning, Commercialization, Construction, Commissioning, and Operation.
  • Collaborate within a matrix organization; coordinate functional teams, technical experts, and stakeholders to meet project goals.
  • Lead procurement processes, negotiate long-term offtake agreements, and secure project financing.
  • Monitor project budgets with rigorous cost control and forecasting to assure financial success and value for money.
  • Ensure all planning consents, permits, and statutory approvals are obtained and maintain compliance with regulatory, environmental, and grid-related requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for contractors, regulators, suppliers, and community partners, maintaining clear communication and collaborative working relationships.
  • Assess and manage overall project risk, preparing documentation for investment decisions and coordinating operational handover for portfolio integration.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to PMO and program managers and maintain adherence to project governance frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and sharing best practices across the PMO.
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies ensuring the welfare of all employees and visitors.
  • Engage actively in performance management processes to meet personal and team targets.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • Have at least 10 years of experience in large-scale energy or infrastructure project delivery, including 5 years specifically in a Project Manager capacity within the energy sector.
  • Hold professional project management accreditation such as PMP (preferred).
  • Demonstrate strong commercial insight with proven expertise in budget oversight, procurement, contract negotiation, and resource optimization.
  • Be well-versed in Irish energy regulatory, grid, and planning frameworks.
  • Exhibit proven capability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Have detailed knowledge of project management methodologies suitable for managing large energy projects through development and construction using lean, outsourced structures.
