The Alkimos Desalination Plant Project in Western Australia is a significant infrastructure development with first production expected in 2028. This project involves marine constructions, tunnels, seawater intake and reverse osmosis desalination systems, groundwater management, water storage, pumping systems, and supporting civil and electrical works.

Role Overview

The Rigger will be responsible for planning and executing lifting operations on-site using cranes, elevated work platforms, and lifting gear. This includes setting rigging equipment such as slings, directing crane operators, and ensuring equipment inspections prior to lifts. Collaboration with crane operators, boilermakers, and supervisors is essential to maintain the schedule and quality standards of lifts.

Requirements

• Must hold a minimum Intermediate Rigging (CW4) license; possession of a Dogging ticket is preferred
• Extensive knowledge of rigging gear, load calculations, and lift planning
• Strong safety orientation with commitment to workplace safety protocols
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects is highly valued
