Job description
Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Retail Manager for Softlines in Canada, the Retail Lead for Softlines Apparel oversees daily operational activities of the apparel retail store department, ensuring smooth functioning and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise department staff collaboratively with the manager.
- Assign tasks clearly with follow-up to ensure tasks are executed effectively.
- Develop and coach team members by training on standard operating procedures and processes.
- Ensure adherence to all store policies and procedures, providing corrective feedback and escalating issues to management as necessary.
- Carry out administrative duties pertaining to the department.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by assessing customer requirements and suggesting suitable products.
- Promote company initiatives both to customers and team members.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards including signage, product presentation, restocking, cleaning, and overall sales floor maintenance.
- Resolve customer concerns decisively using sound judgment within job scope.
- Support other store areas as business demands require.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Preferred minimum of two years supervisory experience in a sales or service environment.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including store openings, closings, and weekends.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Skill in assessing customer needs and providing personalized recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding customer service exceeding expectations.
- Strong decision-making abilities utilizing good judgment and logic.
- Experience in related sectors or knowledge of outdoor lifestyle is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s products viewed as an asset.
