Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Retail Consultant to become an essential part of our store team. This role centres on delivering outstanding customer service through personalised interactions by understanding customer needs and suggesting products accordingly. Achieving sales goals and maintaining key store performance indicators like sales conversion, customer satisfaction, and average transaction values is a crucial part of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify customers' needs and recommend products that suit their requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to explain features and benefits accurately
  • Effectively upsell and cross-sell, informing customers of promotions and sales
  • Consistently deliver exemplary customer service
  • Embody company values during all customer engagements
  • Ensure the store is presented in line with Visual Merchandising standards
  • Address, resolve, or escalate customer issues promptly and appropriately

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of two years retail experience within home or lifestyle product sectors preferred
  • Skill in engaging customers to help bring their home design visions to life
  • A positive, proactive approach to sales targets and performance goals
  • Excellent communication abilities and proficient computer skills
  • Capability to manage both customer service and administrative tasks effectively
  • Genuine enthusiasm for home styling, furniture, or creating inviting living spaces is advantageous
  • Commitment to company values: adding value, distinctiveness, personalization, expertise, and authenticity
  • Physical ability to safely perform routine manual handling including lifting and moving various sized furniture items
  • Must be a New Zealand citizen, resident, or hold a valid visa permitting work in New Zealand
  • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday on a 40-hour weekly schedule
