Job description
Position Overview
The Reservations Clerk at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Medina, Saudi Arabia will manage reservation requests via phone, fax, or mail. This role involves determining guest needs, confirming room availability and rates, and explaining policies related to guarantees, special rates, and cancellations. The clerk will also record special requests and utilize sales tactics to optimize revenue. They will handle specific reservation types correctly and escalate guest concerns according to protocol.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage all reservation communications promptly and accurately.
- Identify guest requirements to assign appropriate room categories.
- Confirm availability and rates for different room types.
- Communicate reservation policies clearly to customers.
- Record and accommodate special guest requests.
- Utilize the reservation system to input and access booking data, including specialized codes for discounts and special rates.
- Adhere to escalation procedures for resolving guest issues.
- Follow all company policies, maintain a professional appearance, and protect confidential company information.
- Provide courteous service by greeting guests according to company standards and assisting individuals with disabilities.
- Use professional communication skills in both verbal and telephone interactions.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals.
- Meet quality assurance standards consistently.
- Handle physical tasks including moving objects up to 10 pounds.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- No prior related work or supervisory experience required.
- No licenses or certifications needed.
