Job description
Position Summary
As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of all audiovisual, projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, Sharjah. This role involves managing the setup of AV devices in banquet and meeting venues, ensuring all equipment functions optimally, and performing necessary cleaning or repairs. You will be tasked with securing and labeling defective gear and providing updates to supervisory staff. Responsibilities also include organizing cables securely, verifying room setups against Banquet Event Orders, and maintaining clear communication regarding any modifications.
You will assist and guide guests in the effective use of AV systems, promote additional AV services, and monitor equipment during events. After usage, you will be responsible for dismantling, removing, and safeguarding equipment. Compliance with the Marriott Visual Productions SOP manual is essential.
Additional Duties
- Adhere strictly to company safety and security policies; report any accidents or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Provide warm and respectful guest interaction, anticipating and fulfilling service expectations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, foster positive teamwork, and contribute to achieving shared objectives.
- Handle physical tasks such as lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds independently and inspecting equipment for operational readiness.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement of a High School diploma or equivalent GED.
- At least one year of relevant work experience in a related field.
- No prior supervisory experience required.
- No specific license or certification necessary.
