About the Role

The Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre in Waterford is seeking a dedicated full-time Reservations Agent to become part of their team. This role is ideal for an organised individual who enjoys a dynamic hotel environment and thrives on engaging with customers to convert inquiries to confirmed bookings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving and managing reservation inquiries through phone calls, emails, and online platforms with professionalism and friendliness.
  • Providing guests with accurate details about room availability, rates, packages, and hotel amenities.
  • Turning booking queries into confirmed reservations and identifying ways to optimize room sales and revenue.
  • Accurately handling individual and group reservations in the hotel’s reservation system, including managing group rooming lists.
  • Collaborating with corporate clients, travel agents, tour operators, and third-party booking partners effectively.
  • Handling booking modifications, cancellations, and special requests with care.
  • Ensuring that guest preferences are properly documented and communicated to relevant hotel departments.
  • Building strong working relationships with Reception, Sales, and other departments.
  • Identifying potential business leads and referring them to the Sales team as appropriate.
  • Completing department procedures and daily operational checklists consistently.
  • Maintaining a high standard of guest service from initial contact through arrival.

Candidate Requirements

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • A friendly, professional, and positive demeanor.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and good organisational skills to handle a busy work environment.
  • Comfortable communicating via telephone and email.
  • A commercial mindset to successfully convert inquiries into bookings.
  • Hotel reservation or front desk experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Hotsoft software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of online travel agents and third-party booking platforms would be beneficial.
  • Good computer literacy and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional requirement to work Saturdays or public holidays.
