Renewals Manager

About the Role

Higgins invites applications for a Renewals Manager to become an integral part of our Wellington Maintenance Team. This position involves leading the planning and execution of the annual renewals program within an active transport network, ensuring all activities meet high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead annual and future renewals program planning and delivery.
• Utilize asset data and condition assessments to confirm treatment decisions and improve delivery efficiency.
• Manage rehabilitation of pavements, resurfacing, and comprehensive asset renewal tasks.
• Supervise internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Track program progress, control budgets, identify risks, and assess performance relative to contract goals.
• Handle contract variations, claims, and adapt program changes as necessary.
• Maintain quality assurance and quality control protocols across all projects.
• Deliver clear reports, identify risks promptly, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Develop and sustain strong partnerships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Encourage continuous improvement efforts and contribute to the overall success of the contract.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing renewals programs, maintenance contracts, civil construction, or road works projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of asset lifecycle management, program planning, cost control, and risk mitigation.
• Familiarity with NZTA specifications, relevant industry standards, and road construction methodologies.
• Experience in forward work scheduling and program optimization techniques.
• Strong analytical capabilities, proficient in asset management and digital delivery tools.
• Knowledge of traffic management and occupational health and safety within operational environments.
• Ability to oversee budgets, financial forecasts, and track program performance effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
