About the Role

Join the Regulatory Delivery team at Napier City Council, which plays a key role in maintaining a safe and well-organized city environment. As a Regulatory Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support, ensuring that regulatory processes flow smoothly and consistently. Your responsibilities will include coordinating information requests, maintaining precise records, supporting licensing and compliance activities, and assisting customer enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver administrative assistance across various regulatory procedures
  • Accurately maintain records adhering to legislative and Council standards
  • Manage coordination of responses for information requests, disputes, and complaints
  • Support compliance, licensing, reporting, and related documentation tasks
  • Assist customers in understanding regulatory obligations
  • Identify and suggest improvements to processes and customer service experiences
  • Offer additional support to the Regulatory Delivery team as required

Candidate Profile

  • Solid administration experience with a methodical and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and professionalism
  • NCEA Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum three years’ experience in an administrative capacity
  • Clear communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Positive mindset, adaptability, and readiness to lend support across the team
  • Experience in regulatory environments, knowledge of relevant legislation, or familiarity with MagiQ Enterprise software is beneficial

Position Details

This permanent, full-time role involves working 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, at the Napier office. The annual salary package ranges from $62,055 to $69,355 including KiwiSaver contributions. Candidates will undergo pre-employment checks such as criminal background verifications; some roles may also demand health screening and drug and alcohol testing. Employees may also be required to assist with Civil Defence emergencies as needed.
