Position Overview
Napier City Council invites applications for a full-time permanent position as an IT Support Technician Level 1, based in Napier, Hawke's Bay. This role plays a key part in providing frontline technical assistance to council staff, aiding with IT service requests, and ensuring smooth operation of the organisation's technological resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Address routine IT service requests and troubleshooting incidents promptly and accurately.
- Assist in the setup, upkeep, and removal of hardware and software systems.
- Help manage user identity and access control records effectively.
- Support the development and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge resources.
- Escalate complex technical problems to higher-tier support teams while maintaining clear communication with users.
- Engage in continuous professional growth and contribute to team and process development initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Holds or is working towards a Diploma in Computer Studies (Level 5/6) or equivalent IT experience; strong enthusiasm for IT is valued.
- Familiar with Microsoft desktop operating systems, Office software, basic networking, and PC fundamentals.
- Experience in customer service, helpdesk, or IT support roles involving problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Possesses excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Capable of working collaboratively in a team, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining confidentiality.
Employment Details and Remuneration
This position involves working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at the council offices in Napier.
The annual remuneration package ranges between NZD 62,055 and NZD 69,355, inclusive of KiwiSaver, with the final salary dependent on the candidate's expertise and experience.
