Job description
Position Overview
The Recreation Supervisor will develop and publish recreational activity schedules and promotional materials, manage supplies inventory, and coordinate guest participation in activities. This role fosters an enjoyable and welcoming environment for guests while providing detailed information about facilities and recreation options.
Key Responsibilities
- Create promotional content for recreational programs using publishing tools.
- Conduct regular inventories of supplies, materials, and equipment and notify management when stock is low.
- Attract, register, and organize guests' involvement in various recreation activities.
- Encourage a fun, relaxed ambiance and communicate facility rules to ensure safety.
- Monitor activities, react appropriately during emergencies, and recognize guests unable to safely participate, escalating concerns to supervisors.
- Assist injured guests until professional medical help arrives and maintain cleanliness of recreational equipment and supplies.
- Support management by training, motivating, and coaching team members while modeling exemplary behavior.
- Report incidents, complete required safety training, and adhere to company policies including professional appearance and confidentiality.
- Provide excellent guest service, assist individuals with disabilities, maintain professional communication, and manage customer transactions.
- Maintain quality standards by identifying and suggesting organizational improvements.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting objects (up to 25 lbs alone, heavier with assistance), navigating various terrains and spaces, and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one year experience in a similar recreational role.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
Required Certifications
- CPR Certification.
- First Aid Certification.
- Certification related to recreation and fitness equipment handling.
- Compliance with any local or state agency mandated certifications or training.
