Job description
Role Overview
The Recreation Assistant supports the Facility Manager in overseeing the daily operations and management of a fitness center. This role involves engaging with facility users to ensure their needs are met, providing guidance on proper equipment use, and aiding in marketing efforts to promote programs and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing multiple fitness facilities alongside the Facility Manager.
- Interact with patrons to deliver excellent service, offering instructional support on equipment use and facility features.
- Support marketing by helping create and distribute promotional materials such as flyers and posters.
- Handle the issuance and return of equipment to authorized users and assist in inventory management.
- Monitor equipment condition, coordinate maintenance, repairs, or replacements as needed.
Job Requirements
- Must provide Direct Deposit and Social Security Card documentation.
- Meet all eligibility, qualification, and background screening criteria.
- Completion of a one-year probationary period may be required.
- Occasionally required to drive for work-related duties; need to obtain and maintain valid USAREUR and TMP driving licenses.
- Required certifications include CPR, First Aid, AED, MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair.
- Applicants should submit concise resumes (max two pages) clearly detailing relevant skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience operating multiple fitness facilities at a level comparable to the next lower grade is mandatory.
- Highly preferred candidates hold a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.

- Applicants must reside within 100 km (60 miles) of Baumholder, Germany, or meet special preference categories (spouse employment, involuntary separation, family member).
