Job description
Position Overview
Join the Foot & Ankle team as an engineer focused on creating advanced Total Ankle Replacement solutions, which include implants, surgical tools, and supportive technologies aimed at treating challenging ankle disorders. Collaborate with diverse experts to guide products from initial concepts through to market introduction, interact closely with leading foot and ankle surgeons, and contribute to innovations enhancing patient recovery from serious joint conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Under guidance, design, develop, adjust, and verify mechanical parts for medical devices.
- Assist in building prototypes and conducting bench tests.
- Participate in troubleshooting, perform root cause investigations, propose feasible solutions, and assess them against specified criteria.
- Engage in research and studies supporting product design improvements.
- Translate customer requirements into design specifications and comprehend the clinical application of products.
- Ensure familiarity with medical device regulations, design controls, and quality standards, creating or updating engineering documents such as Design History Files.
- Collaborate across departments — R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management — to advance project objectives with integrity and accountability.
- Establish strong professional relationships and contribute as an effective team member.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering with no prior work experience required.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, design methods, and regulatory frameworks relevant to medical devices.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools for design and concept development.
- Introductory knowledge of analysis techniques, statistics, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret intricate technical drawings.
Compensation and Additional Information
This role offers an annual salary ranging from €40,000 to €67,000 EUR. Compensation transparency is prioritized to aid informed career decisions.
