  • Execute compliance and enforcement duties to uphold park regulations.
  • Maintain park infrastructure, equipment, and assets effectively.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with Traditional Owners, adjacent landholders, contractors, volunteers, and government bodies.
  • Manage on-the-ground operational activities such as supervising staff, planning projects, managing budgets, procurement, fire management coordination, patrols, machinery operation, and emergency response support.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong communication skills and ability to cultivate community and stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficient in planning and delivering operational projects or programs.
  • Knowledge in natural resource, fire, pest, or visitor management or equivalent natural environment disciplines.
  • Administrative capabilities including report writing, record keeping, budget handling, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to operate and maintain plant and equipment or readiness to quickly acquire these competencies.
  • Confidence with compliance and enforcement responsibilities.
  • Dedication to workplace health and safety policies.
  • Respect and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' interests.

Requirements

  • Hold or be prepared to obtain a manual driver’s license.
  • Willingness and physical ability to travel frequently, camp under various conditions, and undertake demanding field tasks.
  • Relevant formal qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Additional certifications such as agricultural chemicals usage and Queensland firearms license are preferred but optional.

Additional Information

  • Negotiated accommodation options may be available in Clermont.
  • This role suits individuals passionate about authentic conservation work, team-oriented yet capable independently, and eager to face challenges in remote environments.
  • Applications remain valid for 12 months from submission.
