Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor (QS Engineer) specializing in civil construction with over five years of experience to join our team for a commercial hotel construction project located in Vijayawada/Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. This full-time, on-site role is critical to managing quantities, costs, and billing for the project at the Daspalla site.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity take-offs, and detailed estimates for both civil and finishing works.
- Accurately calculate quantities using architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Perform consistent site measurements and maintain thorough records of measurements.
- Draft and verify contractor and subcontractor bills based on actual site measurements and review supporting documentation.
- Create and submit client billing and running account (RA) bills in a timely manner.
- Conduct rate analysis for a variety of civil, structural, and finishing construction items.
- Track project quantities against BOQ and detect any deviations or variations.
- Maintain records of variations, extra items, and deviation statements.
- Assist in cost control by tracking project expenses related to quantities.
- Reconcile quantities of principal materials such as cement, steel, and concrete to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with project management, site engineers, planning, purchasing, accounts, and subcontractors.
- Review drawings and specifications for quantity and cost implications prior to execution.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive documentation related to measurements, bills, quotations, and orders.
- Support preparing project cost forecasts and progress reports reflecting quantities and billing.
- Facilitate commercial negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of all billing and measurement records within project deadlines.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or QS Engineer within civil or building construction sectors.
- Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering, or Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Proficient knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, measurement methods, and billing procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience managing subcontractor and client billing processes.
- Skilled in rate analysis and cost estimation techniques.
- Familiarity with handling variation orders, extra item management, and quantity/material reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of Excel and software solutions pertinent to quantity surveying and billing.
- Capability to independently manage QS operations at the project site.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills.
