Quantity Surveyor

Role Summary

We are seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors based in Dublin to join construction projects on a permanent, full-time basis. Candidates with backgrounds in main contractor, general building, or commercial construction sectors who are eager to enhance their commercial roles and career progression are invited to apply. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial and contractual elements of construction projects.
• Create and track project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
• Perform measurements and valuation of completed construction works.
• Draft interim valuations, payment claims, and compile final accounts.
• Manage the procurement process and tendering for subcontractors.
• Prepare tender documents and evaluate subcontractor bids.
• Administer payments and accounts relating to subcontractors.
• Handle variations and change orders effectively.
• Keep project costs aligned with approved budgets.
• Generate monthly reports on commercial status and forecasts.
• Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and potential opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, and Commercial Managers.
• Maintain comprehensive commercial records and documentation.
• Develop strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide commercial support throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, managing responsibilities through to project completion and final account settlement.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or closely related field.
• Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction sector.
• Experience working with main contractors is highly preferred.
• Sound understanding of construction contract management and cost control.
• Competent in managing budgets, cost plans, and undertaking financial forecasting.
• Experienced with procurement and tendering processes for subcontractors.
• Skilled in valuations, preparing payment applications, and closing final accounts.
• Strong grasp of managing variations and change orders.
• Highly commercial aware with strong negotiation capabilities.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Strong focus on detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial software tools.
• Able to operate independently as well as collaboratively within project teams.
• Possession of a full, valid driving license is an asset.
