Job Overview
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and enforcing product quality, safety, and compliance within warehouse and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and monitor all quality-related complaints with precise and complete data management.
- Carry out initial investigations alongside customers and trade marketing teams to identify root causes of quality or safety issues.
- Use statistical sampling methods to inspect incoming shipments, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Examine finished products during storage and prior to dispatch for quality inconsistencies.
- Regularly check storage environments including temperature, humidity, and stacking to maintain optimal conditions.
- Segregate returned or rejected products for further examination and corrective measures.
- Verify correct handling during loading/unloading and ensure cleanliness of containers and trucks.
- Contribute to the development of large-scale inspection methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Define and maintain Acceptable Quality Limits (AQLs) for all products to ensure standard compliance.
- Keep detailed documentation of quality inspections and investigations for subsequent data analysis.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations through continuous audits.
- Assist warehouse teams in resolving audit findings both internally and externally.
- Conduct periodic audits aligned with BRC Storage & Distribution standards, generate reports, and set improvement targets.
- Ensure traceability and recall procedures are followed during inbound and outbound processes.
- Monitor pest control effectiveness and initiate corrective action when necessary.
- Oversee ISO standards and certification adherence within warehouse operations.
- Manage quality block tracking to promptly identify and address non-conformities.
- Develop and deliver training aimed at educating staff on quality protocols and best practices.
- Ensure warehouse personnel consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain hygiene and safety.
- Provide leadership and assurance to uphold quality standards daily.
- Promote a culture dedicated to quality and continuous improvement throughout all organizational levels.
Qualifications and Experience
- 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in quality supervision or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
