Job Overview

We seek a Quality Improvement Leader to join our Hamilton, New Zealand team to enhance quality, food safety, customer satisfaction, and operational performance. Reporting to the Hamilton Quality Manager, this role leads two Quality Leaders and collaborates across manufacturing and functions to identify and resolve quality challenges, driving measurable business improvements and fostering a culture of quality excellence and continuous progress.

Key Duties

  • Lead quality improvement efforts throughout Hamilton operations.
  • Promote a culture centered on continuous improvement and customer focus.
  • Coach and develop team members to strengthen capabilities.
  • Maintain quality management systems consistent with regulatory, ISO, and company standards.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and manage corrective actions effectively.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to enhance quality, minimizing waste, spoilage, and inventory blockage.
  • Support new product introductions ensuring quality standards.
  • Represent customer interests and assist in resolving complaints.

  • Elevated customer satisfaction and enhanced quality metrics.
  • Reduction in spoilage, scrap, and blocked inventory.
  • Efficient complaint investigation and resolution processes.
  • Successful onboarding of new products.
  • Achievement of continuous improvement targets.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a proactive quality expert possessing solid leadership and problem-solving abilities. You are driven to improve processes, influence stakeholders, and deliver tangible results.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A tertiary degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality leadership within manufacturing, packaging, chemical, FMCG, or similar sectors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or a commitment to obtain it within 12 months.
  • Demonstrated experience leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong skills in coaching, communication, and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
