Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Officer to join our Fruit & Vegetables team. This permanent full-time role is based at our Wodonga Distribution Centre and involves overseeing all quality assurance activities related to produce supplied to our stores. You will collaborate with various teams, including Distribution Centre staff, Commercial Buying, and store personnel, reporting directly to the Senior Quality Control Officer. Your primary mission will be to uphold and enhance the quality standards of fresh produce to benefit both stores and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate Fruit & Vegetable shipments received at the distribution center to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Verify that product quality and labeling adhere to Woolworths' quality assurance guidelines and relevant government regulations.
• Assist in managing the ripening processes for bananas and avocados to achieve optimal quality and appearance suitable for retail.
• Work closely with the Commercial Buying Team to maintain high-quality standards for store offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Support the Senior Quality Control Officer by delivering safe and compliant products consistent with company specifications and key performance indicators.
• Exhibit flexibility, contribute to productivity improvements, and promote a positive team environment.
• Help the Fruit and Vegetable leadership team by tracking important metrics and refining operational methods, while providing constructive feedback for employee recognition and development.

Candidate Profile

• Strong ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with computer applications, particularly Google Apps and Microsoft Excel, with a strong willingness to learn.
• A genuine enthusiasm for retail and fresh produce.
• Capable of maintaining composure and efficiency in a fast-paced work environment.

Additional Information

• Full-time permanent role located in Wodonga.
• Scheduled workdays are Sunday through Thursday, from 3:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
