Quality Control Engineer - Civil

Overview

Deejos Engineers and Contractors Private Limited seeks a Quality Control Engineer with a civil engineering background to oversee and assure the quality of all construction processes at the site. The role involves ensuring that work aligns strictly with approved plans, specifications, and established quality norms.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine civil works to verify adherence to the approved construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Supervise the quality of reinforced cement concrete (RCC), reinforcement placement, shuttering, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, and finishing operations.
• Administer slump tests, concrete compressive strength tests, and other necessary quality control tests on materials.
• Inspect and confirm that incoming construction materials conform to project standards.
• Check critical parameters such as reinforcement positioning, bar bending, concrete cover thickness, shuttering setup, dimensional accuracy, levels, and alignments prior to concreting.
• Develop and maintain Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, quality control reports, and inspection logs.
• Detect quality deviations, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as needed, and facilitate resolution.
• Collaborate effectively with site engineers, contractors, consultants, and project managers to address quality-related concerns.
• Ensure proper implementation of corrective and preventive measures to uphold quality standards.
• Keep comprehensive QA/QC documentation and records throughout the project lifespan.
• Conduct periodic site inspections to identify any quality variances and report findings to senior management.
• Ensure construction work complies with relevant Indian Standards (IS Codes), project specifications, and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Civil Engineering.
• Prior experience in construction quality control or QA/QC roles is preferred.

Skills Required

• Expertise in civil construction quality assessment.
• Strong knowledge of RCC and concrete quality parameters.
• Proficient in inspection of reinforcement and formwork (shuttering).
• Competency in conducting material testing and inspections.
• Ability to prepare Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and relevant quality checklists.
• Experience in handling Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Familiarity with Indian Standards (IS) Codes applicable in construction quality.
• Competent in QA/QC documentation and record keeping.
• Good communication and coordination capabilities.
