QC Coating Inspector

About the Role

The QC Coating Inspector will oversee the inspection of surface preparation and coating application to guarantee adherence to project guidelines, international standards, and client requirements. This role is vital within oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, and pipeline sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect processes such as blasting and cleaning related to surface preparation.
• Check environmental conditions before coating application begins.
• Supervise coating application ensuring it follows approved procedures.
• Carry out tests including Dry Film Thickness (DFT), holiday detection, adhesion evaluations, and thorough visual inspections.
• Ensure work complies with SAEP-316 standards and project-specific specifications.
• Recognize any deviations, report them, and oversee the implementation of corrective measures.
• Generate detailed inspection reports and keep all QA/QC records up to date.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, QA/QC teams, and client inspectors.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering coupled with at least five years of relevant inspection experience.
• Alternatively, an Industrial/Technical Diploma with eight to ten years of inspection experience in oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or pipeline projects.
• Valid certification such as CSWIP-BGAS Level 2, NACE Level 2, or its equivalent.
• Compliance with SAEP-316 qualification standards.
• Proven experience managing all stages of critical coating applications.
• Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory.
