QC HVAC Inspector

Job Summary

The QC HVAC Inspector is tasked with examining and ensuring the quality of HVAC system installations, validating their performance and adherence to project requirements as well as international standards within sectors such as oil & gas, refineries, petrochemical, and industrial facilities.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of HVAC components including ductwork, piping, chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), and ventilation systems.
• Confirm that installation techniques, materials used, insulation, and structural supports meet standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved drawings, procedures, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Oversee testing and balancing procedures related to HVAC systems.
• Verify compliance with mechanical codes and fire safety regulations.
• Evaluate HVAC shop drawings and technical specifications for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify any deviations or non-conformances and facilitate corrective measures promptly.
• Document inspection findings through reports and maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) records.
• Liaise effectively with contractors, QA/QC staff, and client representatives to coordinate inspection activities.

Mandatory Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering accompanied by at least 5 years of relevant inspection experience, or
• Hold an Industrial or Technical Diploma with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of pertinent professional experience.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as SMACNA, Uniform Mechanical Code, NFPA 90A, and ASHRAE Handbooks or their equivalents.
• Understanding of electrical systems installations and ability to identify hazardous locations in industrial settings.
• Proficient knowledge of quality system standards and inspection methodologies.
• Must have a valid driving license as a mandatory requirement.
