Job Summary

The Public Area Attendant role is critical in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, and vendors throughout the hotel's premises. This position assures high standards of sanitation and upkeep in public spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents, and floors thoroughly using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques, including reaching overhead and less accessible spots.
  • Dust furniture, pictures, shelves, and other surfaces comprehensively, employing bending, stooping, and reaching above the head as necessary.
  • Polish all metal surfaces diligently by applying consistent pressure in repeated motions for a gleaming finish.
  • Empty trash receptacles regularly and clean ashtrays to maintain cleanliness.
  • Adhere strictly to attendance policies and demonstrate reliability through consistent work presence.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned that support the hotel’s cleanliness and service excellence.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in a hotel setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Self-motivated with a calm and even temperament.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times to represent the hotel positively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Physical capability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy objects, and stand for prolonged periods, with reasonable accommodations if required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills adaptable to different audiences including supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
