Protection Engineer - Power Transmission

Job Overview

We are seeking a Protection Engineer to provide expert oversight and coordination of protection systems within power transmission infrastructure. This role focuses on technical evaluation, ensuring design alignment, and supporting operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze protection philosophies and design approaches for transmission systems.
• Examine protection schematics, relay settings, and technical documentation submissions.
• Manage integration points between protection systems and substations, as well as Supervisory Control and Monitoring Systems (SCMS) and telecommunications.
• Evaluate design modifications and respond to technical queries.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of testing and commissioning activities.
• Verify as-built documentation and final technical reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Engage in multidisciplinary engineering review sessions.

Required Expertise

• Extensive experience in protection engineering within high-voltage transmission or substation environments.
• Demonstrated ability to assess EPC protection designs.
• Strong understanding of protection philosophies, relay schemes, and system interface requirements.
• Hands-on experience in testing and commissioning is advantageous.
