Electrical Inspector

Job Overview

WSP invites an accomplished Electrical Inspector to become part of our on-site supervision team in Abu Dhabi. This role focuses on supporting significant transport infrastructure and utilities projects through thorough inspection and quality assurance of electrical works.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine electrical construction activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contractual obligations.
• Oversee the installation processes for MV/LV systems, substations, transformers, RMUs, feeder pillars, cable networks, street lighting, and traffic control signal systems.
• Carry out regular on-site inspections and participate in witnessing testing and commissioning operations.
• Evaluate inspection requests, materials submissions, testing documentation, and as-built records for compliance.
• Guarantee that contractors uphold project quality, health and safety, and environmental protocols.
• Confirm all erected works are compliant with the relevant authority criteria and project parameters.
• Facilitate collaboration with Resident Engineers, contractors, utility firms, and other stakeholders concerning inspection processes.
• Detect and report any deviations from project standards; contribute to corrective action planning.
• Maintain detailed inspection logs, daily reports, and site notes.
• Assist with project handover procedures and conduct final inspections.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• At least seven years of pertinent experience in electrical inspection and site supervision roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in transport infrastructure and utility projects, particularly large-scale endeavors.
• Substantial professional background within the UAE market, ideally centered in Abu Dhabi.
• Experience supervising projects in a consultant capacity.
• Practical hands-on knowledge of roads, highways, utilities, street lighting systems, traffic signals, substations, and electrical distribution networks.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi authority regulations and industry standards.
• Experience in the testing and commissioning phases of electrical installations.
• Excellent communication abilities and proficiency in reporting.
• Holding a valid UAE driving license is advantageous.
