About the Role
JIGPC is looking for an experienced Protection Engineer to join its Maintenance team at the Jazan Integrated Gasification and Power Company. This role is crucial for maintaining the reliability, compliance, and performance of electrical protection systems in advanced power generation and industrial facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance electrical protection systems, including protective relays, circuit breakers, and fault detection mechanisms.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce system failures and improve reliability.
- Extract and analyze fault data to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
- Carry out testing, calibration, configuration, and commissioning of protection relays and associated equipment.
- Assist with system modifications, upgrades, and integration projects related to protection schemes.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams during shutdowns, turnarounds, and system improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electrical protection engineering within power generation, utilities, or large industrial settings.
- Hands-on expertise with protective relays, fault analysis, relay testing equipment, and troubleshooting protection systems.
- Proficient with relay testing instruments like Omicron and Megger.
- Familiarity with relay platforms such as SEL, Siemens, GE, MiCOM, Beckwith, REG-DA, and TAPCON.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Power Systems Engineering.
- Recognized Protection Relay Certifications (e.g., SEL, Siemens, GE, Beckwith).
- Electrical Safety Certification such as NFPA 70E.
- Experience with SAP PM or CMMS systems.
