Amentum is looking to hire several Proposal Managers to join its Proposals team. These professionals will be integral in supporting proposal creation across various programs within a fast-paced, complex environment. Their central role involves leading the development and submission of clear, compliant, and persuasive proposals and execution packages.

The Proposal Manager will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure proposals are delivered efficiently, effectively, and punctually, often working under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete proposal development and submission lifecycle, interpreting RFPs, managing RFIs, formulating solution strategies, preparing Statements of Work, conducting bid analysis, strategic planning, and assembling execution packages.
  • Evaluate RFP requirements to craft proposal strategies that align with customer expectations and organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate the development, review, and consolidation of all proposal materials.
  • Guide and mentor junior Proposal Managers in managing workloads and professional growth.
  • Ensure proposal documentation complies with established document control standards.
  • Assist in generating proposal progress reports for stakeholders and management.
  • Engage with stakeholders to clarify proposal requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote initiatives for proposal process enhancement and continuous improvement.
  • Track proposal timelines, key milestones, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Maintain organized and current records of all proposals.
  • Uphold workplace health, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Execute additional related tasks as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a desk-based, predominantly sedentary role. Occasionally, the ability to lift objects weighing up to 5 kilograms may be required.

Zero to two years in proposals, contracts, procurement, or administrative roles. Familiarity with proposal and project management processes. Skilled in preparing proposal documents using Microsoft Office and Adobe suites. Experienced in document management.
  • Proposal Manager II (2–5 years): Diploma or undergraduate degree in Business, Management, Project Management, or related areas, or equivalent experience. Two to five years of related experience in proposal coordination or contract support. Knowledge of proposal and project management processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe suites for proposal documentation. Experience managing documents.
  • Proposal Manager III (5–10 years): Undergraduate qualification in Business, Management, Project Management, or related field. Five to ten years progressive experience in proposal development and project management. Demonstrated expertise in proposal and project management processes. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe suites. Document management experience; familiarity with SharePoint and MS Project preferred.
