Project Risk Section Head

Overview and Responsibilities

The Project Risk Section Head will lead the development and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures within large-scale construction projects. This role involves establishing and overseeing program risk management plans, identifying and evaluating project risks, ensuring accurate risk scoring, and maintaining risk mitigation strategies. Responsibilities also include facilitating the update of Project Risk Registers, monitoring the status of risk management actions, generating comprehensive risk reports for Project Managers and client meetings, and managing the risk database. Additionally, this position requires conducting risk workshops and assessments throughout project execution phases, collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors to address and mitigate emerging risks appropriately.

Additional Duties

• Train and raise awareness among project staff regarding risk management best practices.
• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management plans detailing identification, evaluation, and mitigation procedures specific to construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with Hill International's Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health policies and standards.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors or line managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Management from an accredited institution.
• At least 20 years of relevant experience in engineering and/or project management with significant exposure as a risk manager on substantial projects.
• Demonstrated ability to identify challenges, evaluate alternative options, and implement effective solutions independently.
• Strong knowledge and proven practice in commercial risk management, risk quantification across cost, schedule, quality, and safety dimensions.
• Experience maintaining risk management databases such as ARM.
• Experience with corporate risk management protocols.
• Previous international work exposure preferred, especially within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
