Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in estimating costs, material amounts, and project schedules, while coordinating closely with various teams to ensure project milestones are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and specifications in the initial project phase to quantify materials, costs, labor, and timelines, providing early budget advice and lifecycle cost plans.
• Assist in preparing tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities, working with clients and consultants.
• Conduct cost analyses for project variations and claims, and offer guidance on contractual disputes and claims.
• Value completed work accurately and facilitate payment arrangements, ensuring clients receive cost-effective project outcomes.
• Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and budgets, and perform ongoing analysis to produce budget reports.
• Monitor design and construction changes, updating budget forecasts accordingly.
• Review contractor and supplier invoices for accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Collaborate with project teams—including managers, architects, and engineers—to develop efficient cost solutions and resolve construction challenges.
• Provide management with regular updates on costs, budget deviations, and risk factors.
• Keep abreast of industry developments and apply best practices in cost management.
• Comply with company policies on quality, environment, safety, and occupational health standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 10 years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure or urban development projects, with proven expertise in contractor progress payments.
• Experience in constructing water and wastewater facilities.
• Familiarity with professional project management methodologies and best practices.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience working in international environments.
