Role Overview
We are partnering with a major Oil & Gas operator to recruit a Project Reporting Lead for a long-term contract position. This role is residential and based in Doha, Qatar, either at the head office or the site office located in Ras Laffan Industrial City. The typical workweek comprises six days with 8 to 10 hours of daily work. The Project Reporting Lead will be accountable to the Project Planning Division Manager and will be an integral part of the Major Projects Integration Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Head of Project Reporting.
- Serve as a vital member of the Integration Team, overseeing governance activities across multiple projects.
- Compile, unify, and reformat project progress information, including data, charts, graphs, and images, to create comprehensive executive reports.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder communications, employing effective influence without direct authority to facilitate alignment and resolve issues.
- Maintain consistency and synergy across projects to adhere to defined procedures, plans, and governance frameworks.
- Develop and deliver clear reports and presentations on project progress, performance, forecasts, trends, issues, and proposed corrective actions.
- Produce prompt governance reports to ensure transparency and early warning of any potential problems.
- Create and monitor key performance indicators and progress measures through reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored for various audiences, including executives, team members, and shareholders.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting and project analysis requests, handling urgent management or shareholder demands promptly without sacrificing accuracy.
- Collaborate proactively with internal project teams and departments to resolve challenges and support effective project planning and execution.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Business, Accounting, Commercial, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Law, Communication, Technologies, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- At least 10 years of experience in business-related roles, with a minimum of 5 years in the oil and gas sector.
- At least 2 years held in a supervisory capacity or overseeing subcontractors, vendors, or contractors.
- Experience working with National or International Oil Companies is advantageous.
Technical and Professional Skills
- Advanced English proficiency in both writing and speaking.
- Exceptional technical writing abilities.
- Proficient in preparing presentations using PowerPoint.
- Skilled in crafting speeches.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and preferably Power BI.
- A firm commitment to safeguarding confidentiality of information.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is six days per week with 10 hours per day.
- The contract duration is 36 months with potential for extension.
- Start date is negotiable but typically requires about one month of notice.
- Position is based onsite in Doha or the Ras Laffan Industrial City site office in Qatar.
