Nordex stands among the foremost global wind turbine producers, delivering large-scale wind ventures worldwide and expanding across Oceania. Morson Edge is partnering exclusively with Nordex to recruit a Project Manager who will lead the Puke Kapo Hau Wind Farm development, situated west of Dunedin on New Zealand’s South Island. This project marks Nordex's inaugural wind farm in New Zealand and establishes a base for its growth within the local market. Puke Kapo Hau will feature 40 wind turbines and is part of Stage 2 expansion of the existing Mahinerangi wind farm. Upon completion, the entire site will deliver approximately 228 MW capacity, establishing it as New Zealand’s largest wind farm.

Role Summary

The Project Manager will assume responsibility for managing Nordex’s scope through all project phases including construction, installation, commissioning, and handover. Key tasks involve leading multidisciplinary teams and maintaining coordination between clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the project adheres to safety standards, timelines, budgets, and contractual commitments. The role requires a strong on-site presence near Dunedin (around 70% of the time) with flexible off-site work options.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of Nordex’s project scope from start through handover.
• Take ownership of the project timeline, budget, quality, safety compliance, and contract fulfillment.
• Coordinate activities across engineering, procurement, logistics, construction, installation, and commissioning functions.
• Lead the project team with clear role definition and effective communication channels.
• Manage relationships with clients and primary project stakeholders.
• Supervise contractors, suppliers, and delivery collaborators.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks, issues, and identify opportunities.
• Track progress against milestones and implement necessary corrective measures.
• Collaborate closely with commercial and contracts teams regarding variations, claims, and project obligations.
• Ensure adherence to Nordex’s standards, processes, and governance.
• Provide frequent updates to regional and global leadership.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience overseeing large-scale construction, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated strength in managing project schedule, finances, risks, contracts, and stakeholder relations.
• Expertise in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors.
• Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to handle complex project interfaces and prioritize competing tasks effectively.
• Experience in renewable energy, power generation, or major infrastructure projects is highly valued.
• Prior experience in wind farm delivery is an advantage.
