Job description
Role Overview
This two-year fixed-term position within the Capital Delivery team involves managing interfaces across a major infrastructure programme in the Wellington region. The role acts as the pivotal connection point between the Council, contractors, consultants, iwi, government entities, community members, and internal teams, ensuring seamless integration of projects, stakeholders, and information to facilitate the delivery of complex transport and infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee interface management for a large-scale infrastructure programme.
- Establish and maintain trusted partnerships with multiple organisations and delivery partners.
- Translate complex technical details into clear governance reports and advice for decision-makers.
- Coordinate project interfaces across various workstreams, managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations throughout project phases.
- Support collaboration among delivery partners and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes on major projects like Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (RiverLink) and other urban development efforts.
- Ensure the programme's activities align strategically while promoting safe and timely project completion.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced in delivering infrastructure, transport, construction, or capital projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage interfaces and coordinate activities with various stakeholders, agencies, and partners.
- Strong communication, governance, and reporting skills enabling clear analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, able to build trust and influence across diverse organisations.
- Proficient in identifying, handling, and conveying interface-related risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Skillful in facilitation, coordination, and solving challenges in complex and dynamic settings.
- Experience working within project governance frameworks managing risk, scope, schedule, and budgets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and project management software like Microsoft Project, Primavera, or PSoda.
- Adaptable and agile attitude with a willingness to engage in diverse activities supporting project transparency and success.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Business Analysis, or related field, or possesses equivalent relevant experience.
