Role Overview
Join Deloitte's Engagement Financial Operations team to contribute to some of the firm's largest and most complex projects, ensuring superior financial performance and operational excellence. Work closely with senior leadership, providing critical financial insights that influence key decisions, while gaining access to ongoing learning and professional growth focusing on project financial management and commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engagement managers and delivery teams to oversee and maintain the financial health of large client projects.
- Analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial outcomes to uncover risks and opportunities that impact project success.
- Maintain financial reporting systems and tracking tools; manage change requests and enforce stringent financial governance and compliance.
- Advocate for understanding the commercial impact of decisions within teams and support enhancements in financial controls and reporting procedures.
About the Team
The Engagement Financial Operations (EFO) team delivers comprehensive support for engagement financial management across Deloitte, emphasizing solid financial governance and operational discipline. The Engagement Control and Operate Specialists subgroup safeguards financial integrity on the firm's largest projects, working collaboratively across leadership, finance, and project teams.
Candidate Profile
- Between 2 and 5 years of relevant experience in finance, project controls, PMO, commercial operations, project financial management, or related fields.
- Australian Citizenship is a prerequisite.
- Strong comprehension of financial and commercial concepts, with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively.
- Proven expertise in managing budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, or analysis within project or operational contexts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive mindset to address challenges.
- Experience liaising with senior stakeholders and cultivating trusted business relationships.
- Exceptional organizational skills capable of juggling multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
- Superior written and verbal communication proficiency, with confidence in influencing and educating various stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial software such as SAP, Cognos, Anaplan, or counterparts.
- Meticulous attention to detail complemented by a dedication to accuracy and quality.
