About the Role
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Billing Systems Analyst to bolster our Banking & Finance team in Sydney. This specialist ICT Business and Systems Analyst role focuses on examining, assessing, and refining the Elite 3E billing systems and workflows that underpin high-volume residential mortgage, portfolio lending, secured lending, and institutional banking client matters.
Collaborating closely with partners, legal staff, Finance, Accounts, and IT, the successful candidate will translate business needs into effective system configurations, functional specs, and pragmatic process enhancements. Their role is pivotal in guaranteeing that intricate client billing setups are dealt with precisely and punctually while supporting improved revenue management and financial oversight for the practice.
Responsibilities
- Assess and review Elite 3E billing systems and processes supporting high-volume Banking & Finance transactions such as residential and commercial mortgages and secured lending.
- Analyze underlying procedures for generating, reviewing, and finalizing large invoice volumes.
- Design and adjust matter and billing setups for fixed-fee, transaction-based, and volume-driven pricing models.
- Craft system specifications related to proforma creation, invoice approval workflows, billing groups, and client-specific billing demands.
- Investigate complex billing and system challenges involving extensive transactions and multiple stakeholders.
- Develop and deploy functional solutions, test plans, billing improvements, and process automation initiatives.
- Analyze WIP, billing, and financial reports to detect inconsistencies, operational issues, revenue trends, and potential losses.
- Oversee billing corrections, adjustments, write-offs, write-ups, transfers, and matter modifications within Elite 3E.
- Identify and recommend improvements for billing accuracy, system performance, workflow efficiency, and stakeholder servicing.
- Prepare user manuals and conduct training on system and billing processes for fee earners, legal assistants, Finance staff, and other users.
- Maintain precise financial records and support compliance with firm policies and auditing standards.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive expertise with Elite 3E as a Business and Systems Analyst within the legal or professional services sector.
- In-depth knowledge of legal billing systems and high-volume transactional workflows.
- Experience supporting Banking & Finance, mortgage processing, lending, or similar high-volume practices.
- Solid grasp of legal billing procedures and revenue management frameworks.
- Proven experience handling large volumes of billing and managing concurrent billing deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical, reconciliation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Skilled in applying data and process modeling to define business needs and system solutions.
- Competent stakeholder management, collaborating effectively with partners, lawyers, Finance, Accounts, and IT teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to billing and financial exactness.
- Clear, confident, and professional communication capabilities.
