Role Overview

The Project Engineer will oversee the technical coordination of construction activities, ensuring smooth collaboration across design, services, and delivery teams. This role is key in driving project schedules, quality assurance, and compliance adherence onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the design, engineering, and construction phases to ensure project feasibility and timely completion.
  • Drive project schedules through effective planning, forecasting, and tracking progress.
  • Manage and control design changes to stay within budget and cost constraints.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, regulatory compliance, and Building Code of Australia requirements.
  • Assist procurement activities including preparation of subcontracting packages.
  • Contribute to site safety planning and uphold occupational health and safety standards.
  • Provide regular status reporting to senior management and project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer within the commercial construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, design integration, and project delivery processes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills.
  • Familiarity with the Building Code of Australia and related regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing procurement, tendering processes, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to engage multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
