Project Design Coordinator - Electrical Engineering

Overview

We seek a Project Design Coordinator with extensive expertise in Electrical Engineering to facilitate the successful completion of multidisciplinary engineering and design initiatives. This position requires managing coordination across various engineering disciplines, maintaining communication with all stakeholders, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality design outputs aligned with scheduled commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate design activities spanning Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, and Infrastructure engineering fields.
• Oversee design schedules to guarantee project milestones and deliverables are met punctually.
• Organize and lead design coordination meetings, technical reviews, and workshops.
• Serve as the main point of contact linking project managers, designers, clients, contractors, and other external parties.
• Evaluate design submissions for completeness, consistency, and adherence to technical standards.
• Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other engineering disciplines.
• Detect and resolve design conflicts by engaging relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor project-related actions including approvals, revisions, and updates to designs.
• Assist in project planning, risk management, and the management of design deliverables.
• Compile design progress documentation, meeting records, technical presentations, and periodic project reviews.
• Support regulatory submissions, client approvals, and comprehensive project documentation requirements.
• Participate in value engineering efforts and advocate for ongoing improvements in project delivery methods.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• Between 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in engineering design and project coordination roles.
• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering Design principles.
• Demonstrated history of coordinating multidisciplinary building and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with engineering consultancies or internationally recognized design firms is preferred.
• Past involvement in projects within the Middle East or GCC region is a significant asset.

Technical Competencies

• Comprehensive understanding of power distribution systems including low voltage (LV), medium voltage (MV), lighting, extra low voltage (ELV), grounding, and lightning protection.
• Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM platforms.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Insight into design management processes, project execution methodologies, and coordination protocols.

Preferred Credentials

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is advantageous.
• Experience on large-scale commercial, mixed-use developments, transportation, industrial, or infrastructure projects is beneficial.

This role is based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, requiring full-time onsite commitment.
