Overview
This position entails leadership and management of a comprehensive FinOps and Software Asset Management (SAM) program spanning multiple cloud platforms and organizational entities. The Program Manager will ensure all delivery workstreams are cohesively aligned, manage interdependencies and risks on a program scale, and ensure timely, scope-compliant, and budget-adherent delivery. The role emphasizes the integration of FinOps Foundation principles, best practices, and governance among all involved entities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulate detailed program plans including scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, resources, and budgets that align with organizational strategies, covering all participating entities.
- Continuously oversee program progress, proactively pinpointing risks, issues, and scope shifts, and enforcing prompt corrective actions to adhere to delivery timelines.
- Manage the overall program financials, resource distribution, and ensure adherence to approved budget and staffing limits.
- Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders such as sponsors, business units, project managers, delivery teams, and vendors to meet and exceed program goals.
- Provide regular and comprehensive communication regarding program status, progress, and risks to ensure all stakeholders remain informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply and comply with established program management methodologies and best practices including SAFe, PMBOK, Prince2, Agile, and SCRUM frameworks.
- Implement FinOps Foundation and SAM best practices throughout the program's execution and maturity modeling.
- Oversee the governance framework including steering committees, reporting schedules, and escalation procedures, while representing the program to senior client and internal leaders.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in program or project management roles.
- Demonstrated success in managing large, multifaceted programs, ideally within government sectors.
- Hands-on experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, and SAFe.
- Desirable experience related to cloud cost control, FinOps practices, or cloud governance projects.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner certification required; FinOps Certified Professional is an advantage.
