Job description

Role Overview

The Production Machine Operator will manage and oversee the machinery used in the production and packaging of washing powder. This role involves ensuring smooth machinery operation, maintaining product quality, and upholding safety standards throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and supervise production machinery following established procedures.
  • Set up, calibrate, and regulate machines to meet desired output and quality standards.
  • Continuously monitor machine performance to detect any faults or irregularities.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and liaise with maintenance personnel for technical repairs.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive upkeep on equipment.
  • Oversee various production stages including mixing, processing, filling, and packaging to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Verify accuracy in quantities, weights, and packaging protocols.
  • Document production metrics such as output volumes, machine efficiency, downtime, and resource consumption precisely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in and around the production machinery.
  • Adhere strictly to safety, quality assurance, and environmental guidelines.
  • Use raw and packaging materials efficiently while reducing waste to a minimum.
  • Communicate any mechanical issues, production setbacks, or quality concerns to the Production Supervisor promptly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing machine effectiveness and overall production performance.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in operating manufacturing machines, ideally within detergent, chemical, FMCG, or similar sectors.
  • Hands-on expertise with industrial machinery and fundamental troubleshooting techniques.
  • Capability to interpret machine manuals and technical documentation accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance and insights into production workflows.
  • Proficient in computer usage and maintaining production records.
  • Strong detail orientation paired with a dedication to quality and safety standards.
  • Availability to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
