Role Overview
We are looking for experienced and meticulous Production Jewelers to join our modern Central Repair Facility located in Markham, ON. This position involves repairing and preserving jewelry pieces, from new creations to treasured heirlooms, ensuring each item reflects the sentimental value they carry.
Responsibilities
- Execute expert repairs on gold and silver jewelry, including resizing, re-shanking, soldering, polishing, refinishing, and stone setting.
- Handle various gemstone cuts and settings with confidence.
- Utilize precision tools and equipment such as cutting instruments, welding and soldering devices, polishing machines, and electroplating systems.
- Maintain stringent quality standards to guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Engage collaboratively in LEAN-based process enhancement initiatives.
- Participate actively in workplace committees, including Safety and Engagement groups.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and reliability as part of a cohesive team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Gemology certification is an advantage.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in jewelry repair or relevant trade school education preferred.
- At least one year’s experience using specialized repair tools or equipment preferred.
Skills and Attributes
- Competent in operating jewelry repair tools and machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with superior hand-eye coordination.
- Knowledge of polishing, cleaning, and electroplating techniques is favored.
- Ready to undertake a practical skills assessment.
