Job description

About Fundraise Up

Fundraise Up is a global fundraising platform designed to make donating to nonprofits swift, seamless, and accessible worldwide. Our technology facilitates tens of millions of dollars in donations monthly across many countries. We focus on innovations that improve outcomes such as faster load times, higher conversion rates, worldwide payment options, and accessibility-focused design. Our platform is trusted by leading nonprofits like UNICEF and the Alzheimer's Association, earning a strong 4.9/5 rating on top software review platforms.

Product and Team Overview

Operating primarily in the enterprise segment, we serve nonprofits across North America, the UK, Australia, and Europe. Our expansive product ecosystem supports nonprofits, donors, and partners globally, featuring a modern checkout experience, customizable widgets, donor and organization portals, admin tools, and various internal applications. The product team consists of over 160 members spread mainly across Spain, Poland, Portugal, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, Turkey, and Cyprus. We prioritize focused collaboration, solid engineering practices, and a strong product mindset with a culture fostering quality, mentorship, and respect.

In-Person Giving Product Focus

In-Person Giving integrates Fundraise Up's online donation excellence into physical fundraisers, beginning with contactless donation experiences such as Tap to Donate and Giving Station. Transactions connect seamlessly with campaigns, donor data, reporting, CRM integrations, and operational controls. The next phase involves Events & Commerce capabilities, which include ticket sales, check-in processes, merchandise and food sales, auctions, paddle raises, and supplementary donations linked to events. These functions are unified in a connected fundraising system rather than isolated event tools.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead the Events & Commerce lifecycle within the In-Person Giving products. This hands-on role encompasses discovery, definition, delivery, launch, and ongoing iterations. The aim is to focus a broad category into a clear product direction based on customer workflows, real product usage, and business metrics. Close collaboration with PMs managing the broader In-Person Giving portfolio and the Peer-to-Peer team is essential to align event commerce with shared foundations like payments, campaigns, donor data, reporting, mobile, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap for Events & Commerce, driven by customer insights, market data, and business context.
  • Identify a targeted event segment and avoid attempting to replace all event platforms at once.
  • Define which elements belong to the shared In-Person Giving foundation and which require event-specific models.
  • Make strategic build, integrate, partner, or exclude decisions regarding features and capabilities.
  • Maintain visibility of assumptions, success metrics, scope, risks, and key decisions.
  • Engage with nonprofit fundraising teams, event operators, finance personnel, volunteers, donors, design collaborators, and internal go-to-market teams to understand workflows before, during, and after events, covering purchase, check-in, donations, fulfillment, reconciliation, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Validate product directions through interviews, direct observations, prototypes, and real-world product data.
  • Delineate actual adoption barriers from feature requests influenced by existing event platform expectations.
  • Tackle complex issues including ticketing, QR check-ins, guest management, commerce catalogs, fair market value receipts, on-site purchases, auctions, paddle raises, refunds, attribution, reporting, and integrations.
  • Oversee product development from problem identification through requirements, delivery, launch, and iteration.
  • Produce precise requirements, acceptance criteria, edge cases, state transitions, and documented decisions.
  • Make daily scope and trade-off decisions collaboratively with Engineering, Design, Analytics, Research, QA, and GTM teams.
  • Design solutions accommodating real event scenarios involving staff, volunteers, mobile devices, optional hardware, unreliable connectivity, peak volumes, and operational recovery.
  • Ensure reuse of existing Fundraise Up infrastructure wherever possible for payments, campaigns, donors, reporting, CRM, and identity management.
  • Identify and surface risks, dependencies, and outstanding decisions early to maintain predictability.
  • Lead launches through Early Access Programs with clear entry criteria, measurable success, workflow targets, readiness checks, and defined out-of-scope boundaries.
  • Evaluate organizational ability to manage event workflows without redundant work or disconnected tools.
  • Monitor attendee experiences related to purchasing, check-in, donations, confirmations, and receipts.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, Finance, Legal, and Operations on positioning, enablement, launch readiness, and commitments.
  • Connect product data to business outcomes such as activation, adoption, event completion, gross payment volume, expansion, pipeline development, retention, and operational cost.
  • Make data-driven recommendations regarding iteration, expansion, directional changes, partnerships, or project cessation.
  • Leverage AI technologies for research synthesis, workflow analysis, prototyping, specification improvement, data exploration, and automation.
  • Create testable prototypes and deliverables rapidly while maintaining product judgment internally.

Candidate Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of Product Management or Product Ownership experience in software development.
  • Proven end-to-end ownership of a customer-facing product area including close work with Engineering and Design.
  • Strong ability to narrow broad problem spaces into focused releases with sound rationales.
  • Experience converting customer evidence and product metrics into informed decisions.
  • Excellent written communication covering requirements, edge cases, metrics, and decision documentation.
  • Capability to manage complex, multi-actor transactional workflows involving permissions, states, financial transactions, and data relationships.
  • High autonomy and ownership with fluent spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ticketing, event technology, commerce, point-of-sale, payments, marketplaces, registration, auctions, or transaction-heavy products.
  • Familiarity with mobile apps, contactless payments, physical devices, or workflows supported by hardware.
  • Background in B2B SaaS, nonprofit fundraising, or other operationally complex customer environments.
  • Experience launching a product through beta or Early Access Program phases.
  • Knowledge of CRM integrations, financial reconciliation, reporting, attribution, analytics, or SQL.
  • Practical experience using AI tools for research, prototyping, data analysis, or product operations.

Misfit Indicators

  • Seeking a role focused on event planning or internal project management instead of software product leadership.
  • Preferring to only follow predefined roadmaps and requirements without contributing to shaping the product.
  • Wanting to avoid detailed specifications, quality assurance, delivery issues, or post-launch refinement.
  • Expecting to treat every customer request as a mandatory roadmap item.
  • Requiring stable, unchanging scope before moving forward.
  • Measuring progress mainly by features delivered instead of customer and business impact.

Why Join Us

  • Opportunity to craft a new product direction from research to live customer engagement.
  • Participate in a significant and validated fundraising market with strong customer need and commercial potential.
  • Shape event ticketing and commerce as integral parts of a unified fundraising platform rather than isolated tools.
  • Collaborate with genuine nonprofit customers, extensive product insights, and seasoned cross-functional teams.
  • Work in a small, empowered team with direct access to product leadership and significant ownership.
  • Help define an AI-centered approach to pragmatic product management.
  • Contribute to technology that enhances support and fundraising success for nonprofit missions.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Gross salary range: $4,600 to $5,000 per month, determined by experience, skills, and location.
  • Annual paid leave: 31 days.
  • Fully covered telemedicine healthcare plan.
  • Support for home office setup including furniture and equipment.
  • Access to English language learning courses and relevant professional development.
  • Subsidized gym or swimming pool membership.
  • Options for coworking spaces and remote work.
