Overview

The Product Coordinator plays a vital role in sourcing and managing suppliers to deliver high-quality, competitively priced products that support Qatar Airways' sales and operational objectives. This role oversees supplier contracting, pricing strategies, benchmarking, and ensures timely availability and setup of products. It involves collaborating across teams to facilitate product development and maintenance while ensuring compliance, supplier performance, and product readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage supplier partnerships consistent with the corporate product strategy to ensure optimal product positioning, quality, pricing, and return on investment.
  • Maintain regular engagement with key suppliers, conducting performance reviews and planning discussions aligning commercial goals and product roadmaps.
  • Support execution of the product plan by maintaining a balanced, competitive portfolio tailored by destination, season, and customer segment.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor offerings to discover gaps and opportunities; implement tactical pricing, offers, and discounts including operational revenue charges to boost revenue.
  • Maximize profitability through margin strategies while keeping competitive market positioning.
  • Administer supplier contracts end-to-end, including onboarding via Oracle, contract management, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Review and validate contract modifications to align with commercial aims, product needs, and system readiness.
  • Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in contracting processes and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure inventory, rates, and promotional offers are available on schedule to support sales campaigns, marketing activities, and new launches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to synchronize product readiness with marketing calendars and sales initiatives.
  • Adhere to operating procedures including bookings, financial agreements, and supplier responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with system and data teams to guarantee accurate and prompt product loading.
  • Track and report supplier performance and sales trends for informed decision-making.
  • Monitor daily sales and demand fluctuations to anticipate peak times and adapt strategies.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to continually enhance product competitiveness and performance.
  • Maintain exhaustive knowledge of the product portfolio and supplier services.
  • Facilitate internal product enablement by conducting training, sharing updates, and presenting supplier information to sales and operations staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience managing contracts and uploading them into digital systems with a strong focus on pricing elements.
  • Competence in preparing and managing costing sheets and conducting pricing and benchmarking analyses.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective supplier relationships.
  • Industry experience in travel, tour operations, or product/commercial roles is essential.
  • Preferred experience in product or contracting functions, particularly in outbound travel.
  • Basic understanding of airfares or Global Distribution Systems (GDS).

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Commercial negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel for data reporting and analysis.
  • Good understanding of travel destinations and travel product varieties.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing work pressure.
  • Genuine interest in travel and delivering exceptional product quality.
