About the Role
Join Glanua as a Procurement Technician based at our Head Office in Loughrea, County Galway. This role involves supporting the purchasing activities within the Industrial business division, focusing on efficient procurement and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the purchasing department by preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders accurately.
- Provide procurement support to designated construction sites to secure necessary materials and services in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed procurement records including purchase orders, goods receipts, and address invoicing concerns to facilitate smooth purchase-to-pay workflows within projects.
- Communicate with vendors upon project team requests to gather product or service details such as pricing, availability, and delivery confirmation.
- Evaluate and compare supplier bids based on price, specifications, and delivery timing to select optimal offers.
- Contribute to contract management efforts and monitor supplier performance metrics.
- Ensure all procurement actions comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams including inventory, finance, operations, and HSQE to maintain accurate supply levels, procurement schedules, and supplier adherence.
- Regularly update procurement databases, vendor profiles, and catalogues to keep information current.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent; higher education such as an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields is preferred.
- Desirable to have 1 to 3 years of experience supporting procurement or supply chain functions.
- Understanding of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and supply chain basics is advantageous.
- Competent using Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP or procurement platforms required, with SAP experience considered a plus.
- High attention to detail coupled with strong organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders.
