About the Role
A Fintech company in Cork City is driving a modernization of its product and platform by integrating AI-assisted development to enhance their existing enterprise products. The role requires working with legacy .Net systems and experience in parallel solution development during platform migration alongside live production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain .Net applications with deep insight into .Net internals, including thread pool and async/await mechanics.
- Perform SQL Server performance tuning using profiling tools, indexing strategies, partitioning, and managing Azure SQL elastic pools, potentially migrating logic into APIs.
- Daily coding with modern IDEs, deploying frequently to production, and leveraging AI coding assistants or agent platforms for enhanced productivity.
Required Experience & Skills
- Expertise in .NET and C# with strong understanding of modern framework features, asynchronous programming, dependency injection, clean architecture, and domain-driven design.
- Proficient in full-stack development, especially TypeScript and Angular for front-end work.
- Experience with cloud-native development focused on Azure, with applicable skills in AWS or GCP being transferable.
- Competence in database schema design, performance optimization, and migration strategies suitable for high-traffic systems.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, with an emphasis on automation.
- Ability to design robust scalable APIs with attention to versioning and backward compatibility.
- Implementation of comprehensive testing strategies covering unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with large-scale codebase refactoring and modernization tactics including incremental decomposition and strangler patterns.
Location and Working Arrangement
This position is based in Cork, requiring a hybrid work schedule with three days in office and two days remote. Candidates must be locally based or willing to relocate to Cork.
