Role Overview

As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you will play a vital leadership role in translating the company's strategy into cohesive, scalable technology guidance. This position demands steering systems, platforms, data usage, and digital initiatives to align closely with corporate priorities while delivering tangible value and preparing for future expansion. The role includes establishing governance frameworks, setting standards to simplify processes and mitigate risks, and fostering organizational agility.

Key Responsibilities

• Align business objectives with technology architecture and strategy.
• Govern architectural frameworks and guide decision-making processes across business and IT domains.
• Lead modernization efforts to simplify and optimize existing IT assets.
• Advise stakeholders and collaborate across teams to drive innovation and future readiness emphasizing 10X growth potential.
• Design AI-enabled architectures integrating automation, machine learning, and generative AI into enterprise applications.
• Plan and oversee architecture roadmaps, solution assessments, and health checks.
• Develop and present comprehensive initiative reports, offering solutions and implementation plans.
• Drive best practices for IT operations and management information systems.
• Audit current systems, identifying gaps and proposing effective remediation solutions.
• Support cloud adoption and platform enablement strategies, including DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and environment orchestration.
• Work with infrastructure and security teams to ensure application designs meet operational, security, compliance, and performance requirements.
• Advocate architecture governance by preparing documentation, conducting reviews, identifying risks, and aligning with compliance needs.
• Mentor engineering teams, lead technical advisory, and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Maintain detailed architecture documentation and conduct knowledge-sharing initiatives to uplift organizational capabilities.

AI-Enabled Architecture Focus

• Identify and embed AI, automation, and machine learning opportunities within enterprise applications and processes.
• Guide intelligent solution patterns such as recommendation engines, conversational interfaces, and workflow automation with an emphasis on responsible AI and compliance.
• Collaborate with data, security, infrastructure, and platform teams for integration of AI capabilities into enterprise systems.
• Evaluate AI technologies and vendors to determine suitability for enterprise adoption.

Application Modernization and Infrastructure

• Lead assessment and rationalization of legacy applications toward modernization and simplification.
• Identify and reduce technical debt through strategic platform consolidation and refactoring.
• Ensure infrastructure-aware design addressing hosting, compute, storage, security controls, disaster recovery, and operational support.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, application development, or technology delivery.
• At least five years overseeing enterprise-wide architecture initiatives or leading complex solution designs.
• Proven capability designing and implementing large-scale eCommerce and enterprise application solutions.
• Deep expertise spanning application, integration, data, cloud, infrastructure, and security architecture domains.
• Successful record translating business needs into comprehensive solution architectures and roadmaps.
• Hands-on experience with custom software, SaaS platforms, packaged applications, APIs, middleware, and event-based integrations.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud including design for scalability, resilience, security, monitoring, and cost management.
• Experience conducting architecture governance, defining standards, reusable patterns, and providing design oversight.
• Strong focus on application modernization, cloud adoption, technical debt reduction, and legacy system rationalization.
• Excellent leadership skills capable of influencing senior stakeholders, resolving cross-domain design conflicts, and mentoring architects and engineers.
• Superior analytical, problem solving, presentation, and communication skills.
• Industry experience in retail, eCommerce, hospitality, supply chain, merchandising, or corporate systems is a plus.
