Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee pricing and procurement operations for Ocean, Air, and Cross-Border Road freight shipments.
• Generate competitive quotations timely for Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Conduct negotiations with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and international agents to secure favorable rates.
• Create detailed cost sheets that encapsulate charges from origin to freight, destination, and local fees.
• Assess factors such as transit time, free time, validity, equipment availability, surcharges, and routing risks.
• Precisely compute selling prices, gross profit (GP) values, and margin percentages.
• Suggest alternative transportation routes, carriers, and service options aligned with evolving market conditions.
• Maintain and update rate databases, monitor quotation competitiveness, and analyze reasons for lost business opportunities.
• Ensure accuracy by preventing issues like underquoting, overlooked charges, expired rates, and profit margin losses.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
• Practical work experience in pricing and procurement within the freight forwarding industry.
• In-depth understanding of Ocean, Air, and Cross-Border Road freight modalities.
• Excellent negotiation abilities, analytical mindset, and capabilities in managing supplier relations.
• Sound knowledge of freight pricing structures, cost management, and profit margin optimization.
• Proficiency with MS Excel; familiarity with freight and rate management software is advantageous.
